Another day in paradise

Ohiwa day 2

because the weather was beautiful we decided to spend it on the beach, rather then in the car and so we stayed another day at Ohiwa family camp. This also gave us and the kids an extra day to recover from the trip.

In the morning we went for a walk up the hill towards an old Pa site. These Maori sure knew where to build their strongholds because the view of the surrounding area from the top of the hill was beautiful! Jasper had a ball sitting in the backpack and Jeroen walked most of the trip himself.

After the walk Jeroen still had plenty of energy to spend on the huge jumping pillow. It took some convincing to get him on there the first time, but after that there's no stopping him! He could hapilly jump around on that thing all day long! Even Jasper had a great time. He can't really jump quite yet, but that does not stop him from trying.

After all that we still managed to spend some time on the beach and we finished the day with a nice BBQ. Jeroen was helping me flipping the steaks and sausages and he loved it.

Both our boys seem to have had another little jump in their development. Jasper is immitating everything we say, running around the place and if you don't keep an eye on him ALL the time you'll loose him: He'll give you a big smile and then just wander of to whatever got his interest.

We've also decided what we're going to do tomorrow; we'll take the route through Urewera national park
