More photo's... AND a video!

Alrighty then, time for another update. Let me start to thank the girls at FVC Thames for all their wonderful gifts and the lovely card! So good to hear from you all and I think you even managed to get the right sized clothes for the right season.... We'll have to make sure Eva keeps on growing to get to the proper size in time!! The boys love their shirts as well and I really enjoyed the group photo! You all look amazingly the same to me!!

Eva is doing really well. She's getting bigger fast, starts to mover her arms and legs, intensely stares at you and seems to be flirting already! She can give you the most amazing smiles... but only when sleeping. Nights are pretty good too, with the occasional cramps but also nights where she almost sleeps all the way through! I think the whole family is pretty stoked with having her around!

Today I had my last day at work. That was a bit of a mixed bag of emotions. On the one hand I'm glad to be leaving, as the practice was not my cup of tea, but on the other hand I'm leaving behind a really, really nice group of people. I'm going to miss them a lot, and Jessie, thank you very much for the little good luck doll!

Right that's it for now. time to go to bed!

And finally a movie of Jasper and Jeroen singing Sinterklaas songs while just about fighting about who gets to hold Eva! So popular with her big brothers already....

Family resemblance

When checking out Eva's photo's we figured she's looking a lot like Jeroen when he was a baby. So, I've put them side by side for you to check it out. the noses are different, other than that they're looking a lot like each other. I wonder if that's going to involve blond curly hair as well!

We had a bit of a sleepless first night with little Eva. She had some nasty cramps and only went to sleep at 4 a.m. By that time I had sneaked in Jeroen's bed and managed to get some sleep there. Went to the town hall today to inform the authorities of Eva's existence. So now she's got a social security number and all the post birth tests (hearing and bloodtest) can be done. that will happen on day 5.

It's a GIRL!!!

Today at 4:41 AM Eva Marieke was born! She was 3120 grams (that's 6.8 pounds for those who haven't gone metric yet) at birth and is doing really well!

Esther started having contractions at 1 in the morning and at about 3 something the midwife broke the water and after that it went really fast. Esther had some pretty nasty contractions and Eva's heartrate dropped to a point where an ambulance was called. By the time it got here Eva had recovered and the guys just waited outside. In the end it took just 10 minutes of pushing to get little Eva out. She did really well and so did Esther. No stitches at all this time so she's feeling a lot better than with Jeroen and Jasper and was even considering coming downstairs for tea. (ofcourse we didn't let her)

The boys are extremely excited with their little sister!. jasper woke up first saw the baby and said:" Hey, the baby's here.... can i Kiss it?" Jeroen woke up half an hour later and said: He the baby has been born, is she still wet from being born?" Where he got that information from is a mistery to us.

So as the boys are fast asleep now we've finally got some time together with little Eva. Time for a cup of tea and some cuddles.

Eye in the sky

Right, with me liking both photography AND airplanes I stumbled on a site where they mixed both, resulting in aerial photography. So I build myself a radio controlled airplane from Styrofoam, strapped Esther's camera to it and away we go! (she did not find out till after she saw the movie by the way..... sure glad I didn't crash!) At the moment the camera is facing sideways, but this will be changed in the future. No, it's not going to save the world but boy is it fun.

Some more photos!

A few more pics. The kids are changing so much! Jeroen is starting school, and jasper is going to pre-school soon! Esther is beautifully pregnant again. Esther is due late October so a couple more months and then... number 3. We don't know whether it's a boy or a girl, so exciting times again.

The house we are in at the moment has been sold, so we're moving house again. Ah well, a lot of stuff is still in boxes and we know the drill by now!

Right, time fot the photos.. see if you still recognize us... ehh Esther and the kids. I managed to stay out of the pics once again!

Weird times

Time for another update, a hefty one this time. A lot has happened the last month or so. First my brother Lukas' wife Marieke was admitted to hospital for a relatively simple surgery: removal of an ovary cyst. When they started the procedure the surgeons discovered abnormal tissue throughout a large part of her abdomen and she was diagnosed with ovary cancer at the age of 35. Major shock for her, Lukas and all of their family and friends. Right now she's regaining strenght and waiting for chemo to start.

On the other end of the emotional spectrum Maaike, my other brother Jaap's partner has given birth to another beautifull baby girl called Jente. They are all doing really well!

So a mixed bag of news coming from Holland.

Esther is doing really well and her tummy is defenitely starting to show. On monday we're having another ultrasound so that's pretty exciting too! We can also feel the little bubba kicking and moving around.

Both Jeroen and Jasper are doing great as well. They are very cheeky and a lot of fun. If only Jasper would sleep past 5:45 in the morning it would be perfect. Well, I gues the bright side is that we never have to set the alarm clock..... ehhrrrrr..

Right that's about it. Will keep you posted,
